    Description

2" Bore Ball Valve with 2" Tri Clamp Sanitary Fittings, Stainless Steel 304
A butterfly valve is a valve that has a disk rotating on an axis across the diameter of the pipe to regulate flow. Butterfly valves operate similarly to a ball valve, which allows for a quick shut off. The rotating disk is positioned in the center of the pipe, and turns either parallel or perpendicular to the flow passing through it. When the valve is closed, the rotating disk completely blocks off the passageway of the pipe. With the valve fully open, the disk rotates a quarter turn to allow an almost unrestricted flow. Unlike a ball valve, the rotating disk is always present within the flow of the pipe, so there is always a slight pressure drop regardless of valve position.
These butterfly valves are manufactured out of 304 food grade stainless steel, and meet all of today's sanitary standards for sanitary fittings.
Our valves come with either a blue or black ball handle. If there is an order of multiple items, we do our best to send out matching items
    DETERMINING TRI CLAMP SIZE
Tri Clamp sizes are determined by the outer diameter of the pipe or tubing, not the outer diameter of the flange or Tri Clamp itself. The flange of a Tri Clamp fitting typically has about a ½” inch greater diameter than the outside diameter of the pipe. This can become especially confusing when the Tri Clamp fitting has no pipe attached to it, as is the case with adapters, For instance, a 1.5" Tri Clamp to 1/2" Hose Barb Adapter is not 1.5" inches in any dimension, but the Tri Clamp end will fit any other 1.5" Tri Clamp fitting.
If you have any doubts about what size Tri Clamp fittings your project needs, simply measure the outside diameter of the flange (dimension "B" below) and consult the chart below, or feel free to contact us.
