    Description

I buy antique and vintage linens at local estate sales, and always keep an eye out for fabulous vintage clothing and accessories
This is a compact by La Mode from the Art Deco era, probably made in the 1930s.  It is circular in shape measuring 2.25" in diameter and stands a bit less than half an inch high.  It is made of a gold-colored metal - I have no way of testing if it's gold plated - along with two stripes of rose gold color with raised bars.  In the center there's a rectangle surrounded by delicate engraving of flowers, and this is monogrammed with a script monogram EBC.   The top edges are scalloped and the ridge on the side has a raised design.
On the inside the top has a fine quality mirror and the bottom has a powder cover that has a machine-turned design, as shown.  There is a hinge for opening this bottom cover.  Both the closure mechanisms work smoothly and well.  The inside is so clean and neat that I am sure it's never been used.  The only condition issue is a scratch on the outer bottom, as shown in the last photo.
This is an absolute gem!  It is clean and shiny and looks very luxurious.  I will ship this free for you.
