    Description

    The DSX-USB Communications Interface is a simple yet
    rugged USB converter. This port powered device
    connects to any 2.0 USB Port through the supplied
    cable. The module provides an RS-232 output including
    DTR and a simultaneous RS-485 4 wire output.
    This module is protocol independent and can be used for
    a variety of applications and software not just DSX. The
    DSX-USB is built DSX tough with a rugged housing and
    the over-voltage surge protection you expect in a DSX
    product. Complete with removable terminal block and
    status LEDs, this USB Comm Interface has a DSX Edge.
    Single Channel USB to RS-232 or RS-485 for Master or
    Sub communications. This new module can provide the
    RS-232 required for a 1040 Series Master Controller or
    Dial-up Modem at the Comm Server. The RS-232 port
    has an optional DTR terminal for modem use. The RS485 output can be used for a 1020 Series Master
    Controller and all DSX Sub Communications used with
    PC Master.
    The DSX-USB can be used in conjunction with a DSXMCI to perform a short haul providing a 4 wire RS-485
    connection that can be used with 2 twisted pair cable up
    to 4000’.
