Brass crosshatched diamond lid design, raised dots
Base textured squares
Black lucite side bars, claw/prong set, showing some scuffs
Inner lid signed
Latches work well

Began as Evans Novelty Company in 1918 & began making compacts early for 3rd party customers. In 1923 The Evans Case Company was formed, Attleboro Mass USA, became famous for guilloche enamel & mesh bottomed compacts & dominated the Carry All market in the 1940s & 50s. Mayfair was an Evans trademark brand. Became a Division of Hilsingor Corporation Plainsville Mass & the Evans brand disappeared after 1965.
