ere's an inexpensive SIX PACK of tiny white nylon flare washers to fit ball lock OR pin lock threaded Quick Disconnects (QD).  These nylon flare fitting washers go inside the 1/4" MFL nuts to prevent leaks. They should be used whenever there is a metal to metal connection.  They are in a natural undyed nylon that will not affect your brew and fits barbs that are 1/4"or 5/16"

ote that you may not need flare washers with Quick Disconnect fittings due to the plastic lip of the QD serving that function, but using Flare Washers insures NO LEAKS, a big plus on the gas side.

hese are very easy to use.  Just position open skirt side down on top of the QD fitting and then cover with the swivel nut/barb assembly. Tighten but do not torque  These are especially handy on sampling faucets or 'Snap Taps', where you need everything to line up so that the faucet handle is straight up and down.  They give you that little 1/4 turn of wiggle room you need.
