  • Condition: This is a Chicago Pneumatic Horizontal Grinder. This tool is American made. It is an industrial tool, and has nothing to do with Harbor Freight or Chinese company of a similar name. It comes with the safety shield as shown in the photos. This horizontal grinder works very very well. It's older and has had lots of use, but it works very well. It's just slightly under 24 inches in length. It requires a good sized compressor (5 hp or better to run non-stop and full out). It has been maintained well. The grinding wheel is almost new, and it's diameter is 7 inches. The safety "Grinding Shield," is 9 inches across. The shield can be rotated in any orientation to keep out of your way and maintain safety as well. I have provided many photos, some of those photos have the guard removed, just so that you can see every aspect of this grinder.

    Description

    This is a large horizontal grinder, make by Chicago Pneumatic. It works very well.  It is used, but does the job of grinding welds, or whatever metal  grinding application you might need.  Although it is a used tool, it works strong and has much life and power left in it. As stated above, you need a large compressor to power this machine non-stop (5 Hp with a good sized tank would be adequate).
    The grinding wheel is 7 inches in diameter.  The wheel has a 1 inch arbor, and a neoprene bushing.  The grinding wheel was recently replaced, and at this time does not have any use on it at all. The Shaft of this tool is 5/8 inches with standard American thread (left to loosen and right to tighten). The machine turns counter clockwise as most pneumatic hand held grinders do.
    IT IS AN EXCEPTIONAL WORK HORSE, MADE IN THE USA., BY AMERICAN MACHINISTS.  IT WAS NOT MADE IN CHINA OR HONG KONG OR ANY OTHER PLACE OTHER THAN OUR GREAT COUNTRY.
