    Description

    Beautiful, vintage Marie Earle compact measures 2 3/4" x 2 1/8". Gold tone outer case is embellished on top with a medallion and engravings.  The back is also engraved and bears the vintage logo.
    Inside, there are 2 compartments.  Both have their applicators.  One hold rouge, the other face powder.  Mirror is intact and not broken.
    Clasp and hinges also work as designed.
    The sides of the compact are embellished with what looks like engraved ivory colored soapstone? , although I am not an expert and can't confirm.  The pieces have been broken, and reapplied years ago I imagine.  There are scratches on the top, may be able to be buffed out.
    Wonderful piece of history from the 1930's.
