    The Niloak Pottery Co. began as Eagle Pottery in Benton, Arkansas around 1909 and ended pottery production in the 1950s. Niloak is most well known for its Missionware line, also called swirl pottery. The salient feature of Niloak was its "Mission Swirl," developed by Hyten. The swirl is a multi-colored pattern using different clays and resembling marbled paper. Niloak's Mission Swirl was usually of red, tan, blue and brown in a counter-clockwise direction. Niloak derived its name from the backwards spelling of the clay type kaolin. In regular production from 1910 to 1934, Niloak appeared as vases, penholders, kitchen ware, ewers, creamers, sand jars to douse cigarettes, umbrella jars and even a very limited, special-order production as tile.
    This is a wonderful Niloak strawberry jar or you can use this as a crocus pot. The coloring is an interesting mix of mustard, brown and tan. The design of the pot are crocus flowers and leaves. A unique piece of art pottery that will be a perfect addition to your collection.
    Exceptional vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. No evidence of repair or modification was detected. The white spots are studio light reflections. Dimensions are below.
