Vintage Large Mavco Plexiglass Powder Compact

Vintage Large Lucite Powder Compact. Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS First Class.
A gorgeous powder compact dating to 1944.  This loose powder compact by Mavco was a new design they called a Flapjack style and was made of Plexiglass, or as they called it, the "most precious of plastics." It came in several jewel tone colors.  This compact is in tortoise, is a translucent goldenl  color. It is  large at 5”, has a clear mirror, puff and screen, secure latch, and no cracks. The black and white picture i have listed is the ad that was in Vogue in 1944.  The compact was priced at .00 back in the day. You had a choice at the time to have it monogrammed or not.  The Lady who owned this did have it monogrammed and her initials on the compact are E. L  C.
The compact is of high quality,  is in lovely condition for being approximately 76 years old, and has the accessories.  This compact is a treasure    It was revolutionary in design and material.  And ....in this time period it is in absolutely lovely condition.  A great piece for your collection or what a thoughtful gift
