Zipbolt 11.560 UT Angled Railbolt
The UT Angled Railbolt was designed for the stair industry to solve the problem of secretly attaching a handrail at an angle to a newel post. The connector uses UT drive technology, which enables easy tightening at a right angle and deep within the handrail just by using the included 5mm hex bit or simple Allen key. The pivoting 8mm shaft has a coach bolt thread (wood thread) which can be simply hand wound into the post. Once the hand rail has been bored and the angle cut (last), it is easily attached. The pivoting action caters to any necessary angle open or closed; it produces a strong joint without the unsightly long screw going through the visible face of the newel post or ugly filled nail holes.
IMPORTANT: Do not use impact driver to tighten gear when installing this product.

Zipbolt UT Gear-Driven System
The Zipbolt UT gear-driven system provides unbeatable speed when joining staircase components, while being as easy to install as using a cordless drill. When traditional rail bolts are used, once the shaft is wound into the end grain and joined to the second piece, it is necessary to place a washer and nut on the end of the bolt's shaft and tighten. This is where the Zipbolt UT Angled Railbolt shines! The Angled Railbolt housing has a special open channel feature that allows the housing to simply drop over the bolt shaft. Tightening can be done with the included hex bit or Allen key without fiddling and trying to start a nut in a restrictive hole, which is further compounded by having to tighten the nut afterwards.
IMPORTANT: Do not use impact driver to tighten gear when installing this product.
Step 1 - Install Shaft
Install the screw shaft with a wrench into the post. Repeat for the other post.
Step 2 - Insert Gear Housing
Insert the other end of the angled rail bolt inside the handrail. Insert the Zipbolt UT gear drive die-cast housing into the opening and cover threads. Repeat for the other end of the handrail.
Step 3 - Tighten Gear
Tighten both UT gear drives over the threads using the supplied hex bit in a cordless screwdriver or Allen key.
